Affectionately known as “The Top Pub”, Top Pub Pambula is a historic country pub established in 1878 and a much‑loved hub for locals and visitors alike. Open 7 days a week, the venue is home to Bistro 1878 – a bright, spacious bistro serving quality pub classics in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
With regular raffles, members’ draws and a loyal local following, this is truly everybody’s local.

About the Role
We’re seeking a Casual Sous Chef to support the Head Chef and kitchen team in delivering consistent, high‑quality meals during busy services.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands‑on cooking, thrives in a team environment and loves the buzz of a busy coastal pub.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting day‑to‑day kitchen operations and service
  • Preparing and cooking quality pub and bistro‑style meals
  • Leading by example during service and assisting junior staff
  • Maintaining food quality, presentation and consistency
  • Upholding food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie
  • Solid service skills in a fast‑paced kitchen
  • A team‑first attitude with strong communication skills
  • Reliability, flexibility and pride in your work
  • Relevant food safety qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
